Ben Smith And Donavan Edwards Place At Morales Tournament, Bobcats Finish Twelfth (01/12/20)

The Clarion Area Bobcat Wrestling Team finished twelfth out of twenty-six teams, at the 20th Annual Patrick J. Morales Memorial Wrestling Tournament, at Falconer High School in Falconer New York, over the weekend, (Friday and Saturday, January 10th and 11th). Teams from throughout northwestern Pennsylvania and upstate New York competed, with Clarion being the southernmost and the northernmost teams from north of Buffalo.

The Bobcats had twelve wrestlers compete, with two place winners, Ben Smith who was second at 285 and Donavan Edmonds who finished fourth at 160.

Ben went 3-1, with all of his wins by fall. He fell in the championship bout 6-1. Donavan finished 4-2, with two of his wins by fall.

Breckin Rex went 3-2 at 145, with two of his wins coming by way of fall.

The Bobcats had three wrestlers record 2-2 marks, Cody Zacherl at 126, Taylar Altman at 138 and Peyton Means at 160. One of Cody’s wins was by fall and Peyton had a major decision win.

Cutter Boggess went 1-2 at 170, with his win coming by way of fall.

Also competing for Clarion were Tidus Byers at 132, Caleb Edmonds and Andre Miller at 152, Logan Edmonds at 195 and Koaz Baker at 220.

The Bobcats will host Punxsutawney on Thursday (January 16th).
