Bobcats Down Top Seeded Crusaders To Advance To District Nine Boys Class-A Title Game

The visiting Clarion Area Bobcat Boys Basketball Team downed the top seeded Elk County Catholic Crusaders, 55-49, in the District Nine Class-A semifinals, on Friday (March 12th). The Bobcats, who went wire-to-wire, never trailing in the contest, led 15-13 after one. A 15-10 Bobcat advantage in the second, had Clarion up 30-23 at the half. The Crusaders sported a 15-11 edge in the third, to trail 41-38, heading to the final stanza. The Cats outscored the Crusaders 14-11 in the fourth, to set the final.

Three Bobcats scored in double figures, with Cal German finishing with 17 points, Bea Verdill with 14 and Hunter Craddock with thirteen. Craddock also pulled down ten rebounds, to register a double-double. Ethan Burford just missed double figures, with 9 points, while Christian Simko contributed two points. German had a pair of three-pointers and Burford had one.

Mark Kraus led the Crusaders with seventeen.
