Lady Cats Softball Team Defeats A-C Valley, Bobcats Baseball Falls To Falcons

The Clarion Area Softball and Baseball Teams traveled to A-C Valley on Tuesday (March 30th), with the Lady Cats coming away with a 15-13 win, with the Bobcat Baseball Team falling 7-5.

Softball: Clarion 15 – A-C Valley 13

Clarion scored 9 runs in the top of the second, but A-C answered with 7 in the bottom of the inning. The Falcons had a run in the third and after a Clarion run in the top of the fourth, A-C plated two more in the bottom of the inning, tying the score at 10-all.

With a 2-1 Lady Cats edge in the fifth and a 3-2 edge in the seventh, the Clarion pulled out the win.

Payton Simko had 3 hits, for the Lady Cats, including two home runs, driving in 4 runs. She also scored twice. Brenna Campbell had 3 hits, including a homer, 4 RBIs and three runs scored. Kylee Beers homered, scored twice and drove in a pair of runners.

Noel Anthony had 3 hits, including a double, 2 RBIs and two runs scored. Jordan Best had a double, and RBI and 2 runs scored. Ava Kiser and MaKenzie Aaron each had a hit and a run scored. Aaron also had an RBI. Forest scored a run.

Baseball: A-C Valley 7, Clarion Area 5  

After both teams went scoreless through two, Clarion scored a run in the top of the third, two be answered with 3 runs by A-C in the bottom of the inning. Neither team scored in the fourth, but a 4-1 Bobcat edge in the fifth had Clarion up 5-4. But the Falcons scored three in the bottom of the sixth to seal the win.

Cole Slaugenhoup had a homerun, 3 RBIs and a run scored. Dawson Smail had a pair of singles and scored two runs. Cameron Lapinto singled, had an RBI and scored a run. Devon Lauer singled and scored a run.
