Softball: Lady Cats Down Damsels

The visiting Clarion Area Lady Cats downed the Union Golden Damsels 18-3, in five innings, in KSAC softball action on Tuesday (April 28th).

Neither team scored in the first and both scored a run in the second. A seven run outburst by the Cats, in the third gave them a commanding 8-1 lead. Clarion extended the lead to 11-1 with three runs in the top of the fourth, but Union came back with two of their own, in the bottom of the inning, closing the gap to 11-3.

Clarion scored seven more runs, in the top of the fifth and held Union scoreless in the bottom of the inning, to close out the 18-3 win.

Jordan Best had a three-run homer in the fifth, for the Lady Cats, to go along with a double and five runs batted in. Kylee Beers was 4-for-4 in the game, driving in a run. Brianna Forrest had a pair of singles, driving in 3 runs and scoring three.

Noel Anthony had 2 hits and scored twice. Ava Kiser singled, scored 3 runs and had three RBIs. Brenna Campbell singled and scored twice. McKayla Kerle singled, drove in a run and scored a run.

Emily Troese crossed the plate three times, Payton Simko scored a pair of runs.Mckenna Aaron scored a run and Sheftie scored once.
