Softball: Lady Cats Fall To Lady Warriors

The Clarion Area Lady Cats Softball Team dropped a 15-10 decision to the homestanding Moniteau Lady Warriors, on Thursday (April 23rd).

The Lady Cats opened the game with three runs in the top of the first, but Moniteau answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning. Moniteau scored eight more in the second to move their lead to 13-3. Neither team scored in the third.

Clarion scored four runs on a Kylee Beers grand slam in the fourth, cutting the Moniteau lead to 13-7. The Warriors scored two in the fifth and Clarion scored two in the sixth and one in the seventh to set the final.

Beers also had a single and another RBI for the Lady Cats. Jordan Best had a double and scored three runs. Brenna Campbell hit a double, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Noel Anthony had a double and drove in one run.

Payton Simko singled, scored a run and had an RBI. Sheftic scored a run.

The Lady Cats will travel to Redbank Valley today (Friday, March 23rd).
