Baseball: Bobcats Fall To Warriors

The Clarion Area Bobcats dropped a 17-11 decision to the visiting Moniteau Warriors in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference baseball action, at Clarion County Park on Tuesday (May 18th).

Moniteau jumped out to a 9-0 lead in top of the first. But the Cats outscored the Warriors11-8 the rest of the way.

Clarion scored one run in the second and three more in the third to cut their deficit to 9-4, Moniteau scored two in the top of the fourth, with the Bobcats scoring one in the bottom of the inning. The Warriors plated one runner in the fifth, with the Cats answering with three runs in their half of the inning, putting the score at 12-8, Moniteau.

Both teams scored a run in the sixth. Moniteau scored four and Clarion scored two in the seventh, to set the final.

Devon Lauer went 3-for-3, with two RBIs and a run scored for the Bobcats. Cam Lapinto was 3-for-4, with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base. Hunter Craddock singled, scored three runs, drove in a pair of runs and stole two bases. Tanner Miller singled and scored a run.

Bryce Brinkley had a pair of hits, scored a run and stole two bases. Cole Slaugenhoup had two singles, an RBI and a run scored. Also scoring a run apiece for Clarion were: Dawson smail, Brady Quinn, and Ryan Alston.
