Lady Cats Down Lady Crusaders In District Nine Class-A Softball Consolation Game, Will Face C-L For True Second

The Clarion Area Lady Cats downed the Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders 13-1 in five innings, in the District Nine Class A Softball Consolation game, at Heindl Field in DuBois, on Memorial Day (Monday, May 31st).

Clarion’s win, coupled with Clarion-Limestone’s loss 12-2 five inning loss to DuBois Central Catholic, in the Class-A Championship game (also on Monday), sets up a true second game between the Lady Cats and Lady Lions, at Heindl Field, on Wednesday (June 2nd). The winner of that game will advance to the PIAA State Playoffs.

Kylee Beers had a huge game for the Lady Cats, with three doubles in four at bats, while scoring three times and driving in four runs Bri Forrest had a pair of hits in four at bats and also drove in four runs, while scoring once. Jordan Best had two doubles in three at bats, scored a run and drove in a run.

Payton Simko and Noel Anthony each went 2-for-4. Simko drove in a run and scored three times. Anthony scored once and had an RBI.

Ava Kiser scored twice.

Simko was the winning pitcher, allowing just the one run in the first inning. She struck out five and walked five.
