Central Clarion Wildcats Fall In Regular Season Finale To Clearfield Bison, As Jase Ferguson Reaches Milestone, Wildcats Will Face Karns City In District Opener

The Central Clarion Wildcats fell to the undefeated, homestanding Clearfield Bison, 38-7, in a non-conference football match-up on Friday (October 29th). The game was the regular season finale for Central, who will enter District Nine Class-AA Playoff competition as the number 4 seed. The Wildcats are scheduled to visit number 1 seed, Karns City on Friday, November 12th, at 7:00PM.

The Bison opened the scoring with quarterback Oliver Billotte taking the ball in for a 73-yard touchdown at 3:24 in the first. The point after was no good and Clearfield led 6-0. Billotte scored on a 4-yard run, with 8:20 left in the second, with Luke Sidorick kicking the point after, giving the Bison a 13-0 lead.

The Wildcats cut the lead to 13-7, with 6:16 left on the second quarter clock, as quarterback Jase Ferguson hitting Tommy Smith with a 2-yard touchdown pass, followed by Charlie Franchino’s point after. Jase went 18 of 22 for 180 yards, 1 touchdown and one interception. With his passing yardage total on the night, Jase eclipsed the 1,500 yard mark on the season. He now stands with 1,510.

The Bison scored again before halftime, on a 12-yard run by Billotte. Dawson Hotchkiss blocked the extra point attempt and Clearfield led 19-7.

Billotte hooked up with Nate Natoli for a touchdown. Then Billotte carried it in from a yard out at with 1:46 left in the third. Hotchkiss blocked the point after try and the Clearfield led 31-7.

Clearfield scored on more time, with Billotte hitting Karson Kline from seven yards out with 6:47 left in the game.

Sidorick’s kick was good, setting the final.

Some Wildcats offensive stats: Christian Simko 6 catches for 63 yards. Christian now has 750 yards on the season. Dawson Hotchkiss – 2 catches for 37 yards; Tommy Smith 3 catches for 27 yards and 1 touchdown.

Some Wildcats’ defensive stats: Ryan Hummell – 19 tackles; Cole Wrhen – 12 tackles; Christian Simko – 10 tackles; Kolton Bradley – 9 tackles; Brady Quinn – 1 interception.
