Bobcats Down Lions In KSAC Softball Clash

The Clarion Area Bobcats defeated the visiting Clarion-Limestone Lions 12-6, in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference softball matchup at Paul A. Weaver Park, on Wednesday (April 20th).

The Bobcats jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first and tacked two more on the board in the second. The Lions came back with four runs in the top of the second. Clarion answered with a run in the bottom of the inning to lead 7-4.

Neither team scored in the fourth. The Lions scored one run in the top of the fifth, but the Cats plated four runs in the fifth, increasing their lead to 11-5. Each team scored a run in the sixth, with Clarion holding C-L off the board in the sixth.

Kylee Beers and Jordan Best had big games for the Bobcats. Beers had a homer and a single, 4 RBIs and two runs scored. Best had three hits, including a home run and a double. She scored twice and drove in three runs.

Emily Troese had 3 hits, 2 runs scored and two runs batted in. Noel Anthony singled and crossed the plate three times. Brianna Forrest doubled and scored a run. Payton Simko and Mackenzie Aaron each singled and scored a run. Hadley Campbell had a hit and J.J. Wilson drove in a run.

Payton Simko picked up the win.

Kendall Dunn had a single, 2 runs scored and an RBI and Alyssa Wyant singled and drove in two runs for the Lions.
