Wolves Do Very Well At 32nd Annual Bradford Junior High Track And Field Invitational

North Clarion competed in the 32nd Annual Bradford Junior High Track and Field Invitational on Saturday, April 30th. The Wolves came away with a fourth-place finish for the Boys and some fine performances were turned in by both the Boys and Girls Squads.

Hayden Weber and Grace Carroll both claimed individual championships. Weber finished first in the Boys 1600 with a time of 5:23.80, while Carroll won the Girls high jump at a height of 4-06. Carroll also finished third in the Girls long jump with a distance of 12-07.50.

Others placing high in individual events for the Wolves Boys were Mason Burford with a second in the 100 in a time of 11.9, and Logan Bish with a fourth in the shot put with a heave of 32.04 and Jayden Becker with a fifth in the 300 hurdles in 56.34 and a sixth-place finish in the 100 hurdles with a time of 21.64.

Buford’s 11.9 time was better than the previous meet record of 11.92 as he finished just behind Frankie Smith from Elk County Catholic who ran an 11.7, which is the new record.

The Wolves Girls had two other performers placing high in individual events. Emma Fitzsimmons bounded 12-05.5 for fourth place in the long jump and Abbie Hastings took fifth in the 3200 with a time of 16:10.80.

The Wolves relay teams did well also.

The Boys finished with two firsts and a second. Bish and Burford were joined by Grayson Aaron and Landon Lutz in capturing the 4X100, with a time of 50.24. Jonas Wilshire along with Weber, Burford and Aaron teamed up to win the 4X400, being clocked in 4:20. Finishing in second with a time of 10:22.30 in the 4×800 were Wilshire, Weber, Josh Turner and Caleb Turner.

The Girls had a third and fourth place in the relays.

The 4×100 consisting of Fitzsimmons, Carroll, Adie Best and Sydney Baumcratz, recorded a 58:14 to finish third. Maggie Snodgrass, Callie Snodgrass, Eliza Datko, and Abigail Hastings teamed up to finish fourth in the 4X800 with a time of 12:30.10.

Also competing but not placing was the 4×400 team of Datko, Lila Gourley, Callie Snodgrass, and Maggie Snodgrass.
