Bobcat Baseball Team Downs Keystone, Softball Team Falls To Panthers

The Clarion Area Bobcats baseball and softball teams hosted the Keystone Panthers, in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference action on Thursday (April 27th), at Clarion County Park. The Bobcats won the baseball team won 10-0 in five innings, while the softball team fell 6-3.

Baseball: Clarion 10 – Keystone 0 (five innings)

The Bobcats scored one run in the bottom of the first, four in the second and five in the fourth.

Hayden Weber and Dawson Smail each had a pair of hits and scored two runs. Derek Smail had two singles, scored a run and drove in a run. Devon Lauer singled, had an RBI and crossed the plate three times.

Noah Harrison had a single and two RBIs. Tanner Miller drove in a run, while Matt Watterson and Bryce Brinkley each scored a run.

Matt Alston worked four innings, to pick up the win, giving up just two hits, while striking out four and walking one.

Today’s (Friday, April 28th) game with DuBois Central Catholic is postponed. The Bobcats are scheduled to host Karns City on Monday (May 1st).

Softball: Keystone 6 – Clarion 3

Keystone opened the scoring with four runs in the top of the second. Clarion answered with two runs in the bottom of the third. The Panthers plated a run in both the fifth and sixth innings, while the Bobcats’ scored a run in their half of the sixth.

Emily Troese had a pair of hits and scored a run for Clarion.

Bri Forrest singled twice. Hadlee Campbell had a hit, while Emileigh Mahle and J. J. Wilson each scored a run.

Today’s (Friday, April 28th) game with DuBois is postponed. Clarion is set to host Karns City on Monday (May 1st).
