Some Nice Performances By Lions At 2023 Redbank Valley Track And Field Invitational

The Clarion-Limestone Lions competed in the 2023 Redbank Valley Track and Field Invitational on Thursday (May 11th), with some nice results. Coach Keith Murtha shares his thoughts.

A big day at the Redbank Invitational! Ryan Hummell broke the school record and meet record with a throw of 194-6 in the Javelin. The previous school record was held by Ryan’s brother and he broke it 12 feet! Ryan says he feels like has more in him and and is shooting for a 200 foot throw in the upcoming championships!

Ryan was crowned District 9 champion last year and went on to podium performance placing 4th as a junior, quite a feat. The defending state champion from from Wyomissing also returns for his senior year with a winning throw of 211 feet. Stay tuned you won’t want to miss this! 

C-L Girls 4×8 relay team – Olivia Radaker, Madi Aaron, Clara Coulson and Adi Jackson.

The girls 4×8 relay team of Olivia Radaker, Madi Aaron, Clara Coulson & Adi Jackson qualified for District 9 Championship on Friday (May 19th) in Brookville. Adi went on to qualify in the the mile and provisional qualifier in the 800.

There were a number of P.R.’s set in the 17 team invitational that saw an additional 3 boys meet  records set! The team for the Spire Academy in Geneva Academy, an Olympic Training  Center made the trip yo New Bethlehem and put on quite a show in the sprint and jumps!
