Wolves Turn In Some Good Performances At 2023 Redbank Valley Track And Field Invitational

The North Clarion Track Team competed in the Redbank Valley Track and Field Invitational on Thursday, May 11th, with a number of solid performances being turned in.

The top three athletes in each event received medals.

Three Wolves medaled and a number recorded top ten finishes.

Gia Babington finished second in the 800 (2:23.81) for the North Clarion girls. Brenna Armstrong was fourth in the shot put (34-03). Nicole Fair finished in sixth place in the 400 (1:04.44)

Sophie Babington and Marley Kline also had individual top ten finishes, with Sophie Babington finishing eighth in the 800 (2:36.50) and Kline taking tenth in the 400 (1:05.33).

The 4×100 relay (53.89), which included Fair Kline Rhiannon Copenhaver and Taylor Sherbine claimed sixth place.

Two North Clarion boys medaled as Dawson Hotchkiss finished second in the 200 (23.49) and Mason Burford finished third in the 110 high hurdles (16.20). Burford also finished fifth in the triple jump (39′-11.25″) and sixth in the 100 (11.39).

Kaine McFarland took sixth place in the 3,200 (10:43.34) and ninth in the 1,600 (5:00.96). Dane Sliker had a seventh place finish in the 800 (2:10.10), with Jackson Nicewonger taking seventh in the 3,200 (4:54.59) and Jonas Wilshire finishing eighth in the 1,600 (4:54.59).

“Gia Babington had another great time in the 800 and finished second. She still sits at the top of the D9 rankings going into districts. Sophie Babington also Sophia had a season pr race. 

“Brenna Armstrong finished 4th in the shot put. She also sits at the top of the district rankings. 

“Nicole Fair ran a strong 400 as did Marley Kline who earned a pr.
