Wolves Sweep Lions In KSAC Track And Field Action

The North Clarion Wolves recorded a sweep of the Clarion-Limestone Lions, in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference track and field meet at North Clarion on Thursday (May 4th).

The Wolves won the boys contest 104-42, while the girls registered a 101-46 victory.

Boys: North Clarion 104 – Clarion-Limestone 42

North Clarion had ten individual first place finishes, while capturing all three relays.

Mason Burford finished first in the 110 hurdles (18.0) and 100 (11.1). He also joined Dawson Hotchkiss, Isaac Lerch and Noah Naser in the 4×100 relay (46.9).

Lerch also finished first in the long jump (18-9.5) Hotchkiss took first in the 200 (23.8) and second in the 100, while Naser was third in the shot put.

James Keenen won the 400 (58.2) and Dane Sliker captured the 800 (2:15). The pair were part of the 4×400 relay (4:21) along with Mason Gourley and Logan Bish. Gourley finished second in the 300 hurdles, while Bish was second in the 400 and javelin, and third in the pole vault.

Jonas Wilshire was victorious in the 1600 (5:06) and finished third in the 800. Jackson Nicewonger won the 3200 (11:27) and Brady Quinn won the pole vault (8-0).

Brady Guth claimed the triple jump (33-6.5) and joined Jack Pappas, Caleb Turner and Josh Turner on the 4×800 relay (10:52.5). Caleb Turner finished third in the 400 and Josh Turner was third in the 200.

Owen Shaffer finished second in the high jump and got thirds in both the 200 and long jump. Aiden Thomas was second in the 110 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles. Kaine McFarland was second in the 3200 and third in the 1600. Mitchell Bawden finished second in the pole vault and and Hayden Hindman was second in the shot put.

Benjamin Lambert finished third in the 110 hurdles and high jump and Jackson Rudesyle was third in the discus.

Girls: North Clarion 101 – Clarion-Limestone 46.

The Wolves had four girls winning two individual events, with three more capturing one event and all three relays being victorious.

Olivia Hannold won the pole vault (5-6) and long jump (12-8) while also taking second in the high jump and third in the triple jump. Taylor Sherbine captured the 100 (14.2) and the javelin (81-9). Nicole Fair was victorious in the 200 (30.0) and 400 (1:08.4). Addison Siegel had wins in both the shot put (29.9) and discus (78-2).

Also capturing individual firsts were: Lilly Shirey in the 100 hurdles (20.8), Gia Babington in the 800 (2:32.7) and Natalie Durish in the triple jump (28-1). Durish also took second place in the pole vault.

Sherbine and Shirey joined with Rhiannon Copenhaver and Marley Kline on the 4×100 relay (59.6). Copenhaver also finished second in the 100.

Gia Babington and Copenhaver joined Sophie Babington and Anna O’Toole on the 4×800 relay(11:40.03). O’Toole took second in the 3200 and third in the 1600, and Sophie Babington was third in the 800.

The Babington sisters, Fair and Kline formed the 4×400 relay.

Abby Felmlee finished second in the 300 hurdles and third in the 100 hurdles. Brooke Steinman was second in the discus and third in the javelin. Brenna Armstrong was second in the shot put, Olivia Boddorf finished third in the 300 hurdles and Grace Shill was third in the long jump.
