The Wildcats had nine wrestlers emerge victorious

Receiving forfeit wins for Central Clarion were: Kaden Ferguson at 114, Wyatt Aaron at 121 and Matt Alston at 215.

Logan Powell claimed an 8-2 decision at 133.

Grayson Aaron had a 12-3 major decision at 127, while Jacob Henry scored a 15-0 technical fall at 160.

The Wildcats had three wresters registering pins: Cody Heller (:13) at 107, Colten Keihl (4:20) at 172 and Josh Beal (:32) at 285.

Wildcats Coach Braun Gourley shared, “Sheffield is a physical team that is always ready to wrestle.”

After quiet starts, some of the wrestlers came through. “Some of our guys came out flat in the first period and didn’t score many points but turned it around in the second period which was good to see.”

Coach Gourley shared several highlights from his wrestlers. “Grayson Aaron and Logan Powell really wrestled well from the top position later in their matches which allowed them to pull away from their opponents.

“Jake Henry looked sharp in a 15-0 tech fall and Colton Keihl stopped Sheffield’s momentum with a big pin.  Colton found himself on his back in the first period but fought hard not to get pinned.  He later pinned his opponent in the third period.”

He added, “It is good to get our first dual meet win.”

The Wildcats will have a busy day tomorrow. “We return to action this Saturday (December 16th) at Redbank for the Redbank Duals where we will wrestle six matches.”

(Great start, Wildcats!!!! Wrestlers and Coaches, Remember for the rest of your lives, the many history making firsts you are involved in this season!!!!)
