Bobcats Down Warriors In KSAC Girls Basketball
The Clarion Bobcats hosted the Moniteau Warriors in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference girls’ basketball matchup on Wednesday (January 17th), with the Cats coming away with a 52-47 win.
Clarion led 18-11 after one, 29-19 at the half and 41-36 after three.
Marley Kline led the Bobcats with 12 points, with Taylor Alston adding eleven.
Gia Babington finished the night with eight points. Alivia Diehl scored 6 points, Sophie Babington had 4 points and Lacey Lauer followed with two points.
Moniteau’s Catherine Kelly led all scorers with twenty-one points. Abbey Jewart followed with 11 points, including three 3-point baskets and Cheyenne Curl added ten.
“Clarion Area coach Sem Heeter said, “I’m incredibly proud of how hard the girls played. Moniteau’s a talented basketball team and a well run program, and we always seem to have close games with them.
“Our girls stepped up in the big moment and we were able to come out on top this time.”
The Bobcats will face Keystone in the final game of the “Hoops for Hope” Cancer Awareness and Fundraiser on Saturday (January 20th). The girls are scheduled to play at 5:30 p.m., just after the ceremony. An article about this great event will follow shortly.
