Keystone And Clarion Area Basketball Teams To Join Together In 9th Annual “Hoops For Hope” Cancer Awareness And Fundraiser Celebration On Saturday (January 20th)

The 9th Annual “Hoops for Hope” Cancer Awareness and Fundraiser Celebration will take place on Saturday (January 20th) at Keystone High School.

The event which alternates from school to school every other year, features a full slate of basketball games, with the ceremony taking place between the Varsity Boys game set for 3:30 p.m. and the Varsity Girls game at 5:30 p.m. (The full game schedule is listed in the flyer below.)

“Hoops for Hope” is the biggest fundraising event for the the Sunshine Project at Butler Health System – Clarion Hospital’s Clarion Cancer Center. On average, this event, the largest of various events around the area, raises roughly $5,000, with all proceeds going to the Sunshine Project.

All the money goes to help cancer patients, raised can be designated toward specific things. The moneys raised can be designated toward specific things for the patients and their families. Some of those things include wigs, which are often for women who have breast cancer that need chemotherapy, gas cards, for people that can’t work and help in paying their utility bills, etc.

Cancer Survivors and Fighters are invited to attend for free.

This event is open to everyone, not just folks in the Keystone and Clarion School Districts.
