Girls Basketball: Bobcats Fall To DCC In Regular Season Finale
The visiting Clarion Area Bobcats fell to the DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals, 52-37, in the Bobcats’ final game of the regular season, on Monday (February 12th).
The teams were tied 10-all after one quarter. DCC held a 23-20 lead at the half and a 42-33 advantage after three.
Marley Kline led the Bobcats with 13 points, followed by Lacey Lauer with eleven points (3 treys).
Taylor Alston contributed 6 points, Gia Babington added 5 (1 trey) and Natalie Durish had two points.
Hope Jacob led the Cardinals with 18 points and Kayley Risser followed with fourteen points (1 trey).
Bobcats’ Coach Sam Heeter had this to say, “We played a good game and kept it close for a long time. A couple turnovers at the end of the third proved very costly for us and we weren’t able to overcome the momentum that they gained.”
The Bobcats will next play in the Semifinal Round of the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference Championships on Thursday (February 14th), at PennWest-Clarion’s Tippin Gymnasium.
The Clarion JV’s fell 39-19.
DCC led 14-3 after one quarter, 23-5 at halftime and 34-11 after three.
Lacey Lauer led Clarion with eleven points (1 trey). Lilly Shirey contributed 5 points, Olivia Boddorf scored two points and Kelsey Best had one point.
Julie Sebring, Ella Elensky (2 treys) and Jillian Morgan (1trey) led the Cardinals with ten points apiece.
