Baseball: Bobcats Down Lions
The Clarion Area Bobcats downed the visiting Clarion-Limestone Lions 7-6, in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference baseball action, at Clarion County Park, on Monday, May 13th.
With the win, the Bobcats finish with a 9-0 conference record. They are currently 16-1-1 overall.
The Bobcats scored three runs in the bottom of the first. the Lions answered with one run in the third, two in the fourth and three more in the fifth and led 6-3. But Clarion answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth and another three runs in the sixth to close out the scoring and set the final at 7-6, Bobcats.
Derek Smail singled, doubled and scored a pair of runs for the Bobcats. Noah Harrison and Wyatt Watterson each singled scored a run and drove in a run. Dawson Smail had two hits and scored a run.
Devon Lauer singled and had an RBI. Bryce Brinkley crossed the plate twice and Matt Alston drove in a run.
Tanner Miller was the winning pitcher. Also seeing time on the mound were Lauer and Derek Smail.
Tommy Smith had three hits, three RBIs and scored two runs for the Lions. Logan Lutz recorded his 100th career strikeout.
