Bobcats Down Union/A-C Valley In KSAC Girls Basketball Action

The Clarion Area Bobcats defeated the visiting Union/A-C Valley 63-42 in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference Girls basketball matchup, on Monday, January 6th.

The score was tied at 11-all after one, but the Bobcats broke the game open in the second with a 19-3 edge, to head to halftime leading 30-14. A 16-12 Clarion edge in the third had the score at Clarion 46-Union/A-C Valley 26, heading to the last stanza. A one-point 17-16 Bobcat advantage in the fourth set the final.

Marley Kline and Sophia Babington led Clarion with 22 and 21 points respectively.

Natalie Durish and Lacey Lauer had seven points apiece. Lilly Shirey scored two points.

Kya Wetzel led Union/A-C Valley with 17 points, followed by Maddie Dehart’s thirteen.

Clarion Coach Erin Fox said, “Marley and Sophie stepped up big for us tonight offensively. Defensively Alivia had a great night getting steals and causing turn overs. As a team we played very well and worked together on both offense and defense.”

The Bobcats are scheduled to play the Forest Area Fires at West Forest, tonight (Tuesday, January 7th).
