Former Clarion Area Bobcat And Central Clarion Wildcat Ethan Burford, Former Keystone Panther Keenan Heeter And Five Titan Teammates Named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District

The College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly CoSIDA, named their 2024 Academic All-District Teams, which recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom, on Tuesday, January 7th.

Among those named to the Division III Team for the Westminster College were former Clarion Area and Central Clarion Wildcat Ethan Burford and former Keystone standout Keenan Heeter along with five of their Titans teammates.

The Academic All-District teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

For consideration, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. They must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and participated in at least 90 percent of the team’s games or started two-thirds of their team’s games.

Ethan, a senior wide receiver, who majors in Business Administration,carries a 3.72 cumulative GPA He has been named to the Westminster Dean’s List five times and is a two-time Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll selection.

Ethan played in eleven games last fall. He had 190 yards (13.6 yards per catch), on 14 receptions scoring two touchdowns.

Keenan, a senior Marketing and Professional Sales major, was a key member of the Titans’ defensive line rotation. owns a 3.63 cumulative GPA as a marketing and professional sales major. He is a four-time Dean’s selection at Westminster and has been named to the (PAC) Academic Honor Roll three times.

Keenan also appeared in 11 games in 2024. He finished the season with 18 tackles (9 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble.

Joining Ethan and Keenan on the College Sports Communicators’ 2024 Division III Academic All-District Team: were Matthew Howard (Grove City, Grove City), a right guard, majoring in Biology carrying a 3.88 cumulative GPA; Evan Lewis (Elizabeth, Elizabeth Forward), a linebacker with a double major in Finance and Marketing and Professional Sales, who has a 4.00 cumulative GPA while; Dylan Llewellyn (Murrysville, Franklin Regional), a right guard, who is a double major in Accounting and Finance, who maintains a 3.54 cumulative GPA; Alex Shaughnessy (Canonsburg, Seton LaSalle), a tight end with a major in Sports Management, carrying a 3.58 cumulative GPA; and sophomore Braden Mika (Vandergrift, Pa., Kiski), a right tackle, with a double major in Accounting and Finance, who has a 3.72 cumulative GPA.
