Baseball/Softball: Bobcats And Wildcats Pick Up Wins

The Clarion Area Bobcat baseball and Central Clarion Wildcat softball teams were both victorious in games played on Saturday, April 12th.

The Bobcats downed the Keystone Panthers 14-2 in six innings at Showers Field in DuBois. The Wildcats beat the Redbank Valley Bulldogs 6-4 at Heindl Field in DuBois.

BOBCATS BASEBALL

The Bobcats were the visiting team in this contest.

Clarion scored 6 runs in the top of the first with Keystone putting a run on the board in the bottom of the inning. The Bobcats posted 3 more in the second, with the Panthers scoring there last run in the frame. Clarion plated a run each, in both the fourth and fifth and set the final score with three runs in the sixth.

Hayden Weber had 4 hits, 2 runs scored and three RBIs for the Bobcats. Ethan Rex singled, doubled, scored 2 runs and drove in a pair. Derek Smail, Parker Miller and Dylan Smail each had 2 hits, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Noah Harrison doubled, singled scored a run and drove in a run.

Gabe Anderson had a single and an RBI. Carter Hindman scored a run and drove in a run. 

Wyatt Watterson and Kason Kiehl each scored a run.

The Bobcats are scheduled to visit Moniteau on Tuesday (April 15th), with a 6:00 p.m. start.

WILDCATS SOFTBALL

The Wildcats were the home team.

Neither team scored in the first. Redbank had three runs in the top of the second. The Wildcats scored their first run in the bottom of the third and tacked on five more in the fifth. With a Bulldog run in the sixth, the Central Clarion 6 – Redbank Valley 4 final was set.

Jenna Dunn picked up the win for the Wildcats. She also had a single and scored a run.

Karllee Mahle Doubled and scored a run. Emileigh Mahle and Alexa Kitchen each singled and stored a run. Sami Simpson had a single and Ali Burford scored twice.

The Wildcats are scheduled to host Keystone at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday (April, 15th).
