Wildcat Thinclads Have Solid Outing At McDowell Invitational

The Central Clarion Wildcats competed in the Joe Sanford’s McDowell Track and Field Invitational, on Friday, April 25th. 

Medals were presented to the top six in each event. Wildcats had a several individual athletes and three relay teams earn medals.

Brenna Armstrong was Central Clarion’s top individual finisher, winning Gold in the Girls Shot Put (35′-0″) and Silver in the Discus (104′-3″). 

Eliza Datko garnered Silver in the Girls 1600 (5:27.05) and 3200 (12:00.14) respectively.

Wyatt Boyden had the top finish for the Wildcat boys, taking third place in the Boys 400 (51.94), while also finishing fifth in the Boys Long Jump (20′-1.25″).

Mason Burford captured fourth place in the Boys 100 (11.26).

Adi Jackson finished sixth in the Girls 800 (2:32.22). 

The Wildcat boys relays took home two medals. The 4×100 (43.57), run by Ben Lambert, Jase Ferguson, Brody Beggs and Burford captured Gold.

The 4×800 (8:11.12), which included Jonas Wilshire, Mason Gourley,  Boyden and Guth, won Silver.

The Girls 4×800 (11:09), consisting of Julianna Schwabenbauer, Olivia Radaker, Jackson and Datko, finished sixth.

In addition the Wildcats had some other individual Top Ten finishes:

Seventh place finishers included: Guth, in the Boys Triple Jump (40′ 3.5″), and Elena Scheftic and Schwabenbauer, in the Girls High Jump (4′-4″) along with several other athletes.

Eighth place finishers were: Gourley, in the Boys 800 (2:04.51), Hayden Hindman in the Boys Shot Put (41′-1″) and Emma Fitzsimmons in the Girls 300 Hurdles (53.49).

Those with ninth place finishes included: Jackson in the Girls 400 (1:05.40) and Frederick in the Boys 400 (54.54).

Beggs finished tenth in the Boys 100 (11.50).
