Former Clarion Area Standout Noel Anthony Named Softball All-PAC For Grove City College Wolverines

Noel Anthony, a two time Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association (PaHSSBCA) First Team All-State softball player for the Clarion Area Bobcats (second base in 2021 and outfield in 2022) now playing for the NCAA Division III, Grove City Wolverines is a Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) 2025 Second Team All-Conference selection at both shortstop and pitcher.

This is Noel’s first time to be selected All-PAC.

Noel put up some big numbers on offense for head coach Kristen Cramer’s Wolverines this spring.

A three year starter, Noel started all thirty-nine games this year and had career highs in two offensive categories this season, scoring 29 runs and recording 40 hits. Noel had a .381 batting average, including 12 doubles, 3 triples and a home run, with 30 RBIs and sixty-three total bases.

Noel struck out just 6 times in 105 plate appearances and was walked eleven times.

She was outstanding on defense also. Noel had .995 fielding percentage, with 62 putouts on 66 chances, with an assist and only one error.

The Wolverines posted a team record 26 overall wins, as they went 26-13. This is the third consecutive spring that the team has set its single-season wins record. Grove City recorded 21 wins in 2023 and twenty-five last year.

They won the PAC Regular Season Championship, recording a 15-5 conference mark. The fifteen conference wins are also a team record.

In guiding the Wolverines in such a successful season, Coach Cramer was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

Grove City had two First Team selections, senior first baseman Brooke Brodie (Mogadore, Ohio/Mogadore) and sophomore left fielder Evelyn Montone (Allentown, Pa./Parkland).

Joining Noell on the Second Team were senior second baseman Maci Linhart (Columbiana, Ohio/Columbiana) and junior shortstop-pitcher Kyla Campbell (Altoona, Pa./Glendale) all earned Second Team recognition.

Another player from the area, sophomore designated player Emma Covert (Chicora, Pa./Moniteau) and sophomore pitcher Abigail Meadors (Warren, Ohio/Champion) were given Honorable Mention nods.

Senior infielder Rachel Zona (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) was selected as a member of the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
