Wildcats Season Ends As They Fall 2-1 To Raiders In D9 2A Quarterfinal Matchup

The Central Clarion Wildcats dropped a 2-1 decision to the visiting Brookville Raiders in the District Nine Class 2A Quarterfinals on Tuesday (May 20th), bringing their season to an end.

The Raiders’ Kailin Bowser scored a run in the top of the first, with neither team scoring until the seventh inning.

Brookville pushed a run across in the top of the inning, with Megan McKinley scoring, giving the Raiders a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the inning, the Wildcats Brinley Kiskadden had a one out single. Three batters later, JJ Wilson hit into a fielder’s choice to send Kiskadden home with Central Clarion’s lone run.

Wilson had two hits in the game and the RBI. Alicyn Burford collected two hits.

Emileigh Mahle, Ashlyn Clark and Karlee Mahle each singled.

Jenna Dunn had a very good outing in the circle, giving up just the two runs and four hits, while striking out three, over the seven innings.

Alyssa Tollini picked up the win for the Raiders.

The Wildcats finished the season at 9-8 as they are making healthy strides, improving on last year’s 6-12 record.
