Wildcats Boys Coach, Jess Quinn had this to say, “All three relays are headed to Shippensburg this weekend. The 4x800m relay was flying at Districts, crushing their PR running an 8:06.94 which tied a facility record. They are currently 5th in the state with that time. Mason Gourley, Brady Guth, Jonas Wilshire, and Wyatt Boyden makeup that crew!
“The 4x100m ran a 43.04, not a PR, but fast enough to be the 3rd fastest time as of now. The four sprinters are Ben Lambert, Jase Ferguson, Brody Beggs, and Mason Buford.
“The final relay making it to states is the 4x400m relay. They ran a 3:27.47 which places them 11th in the state currently. The guys that run are Mason Burford, Nathan Frederick, Brody Beggs, and Wyatt Boyden. Nathan Frederick is unable to run at states due to a family commitment, so Mason Gourley will run in his stead.
“Mason Burford and Wyatt Boyden are also running in individual events at Shippensburg this weekend. Mason Burford ran a 15.03 in the 110m high hurdles and currently sits at 9th. He is also running in the 200m where he ran a 22.36 and sits in 6th place. Wyatt will be competing in the 400m run where he ran a PR 50.90 and is currently in the top 30.
“We had many kids do well at districts this year. Mason Burford and Jason Megnan were 1st and 6th respectively in the 110m hurdles. Brody Beggs and Jase Ferguson took to the podium in the 100m dash. All 3 relays crushed it, winning going away. The 400m saw Wyatt Boyden take 2nd place. He also took 6th in the Long Jump. His teammate Isaac Lerch took third in that event. Hayden Hindman took 6th place in the shot put.
“It was a very good day for Central Clarion Track n Field. I am very proud of our effort regardless of the outcome. Our boys put their best foot forward in every event and gave everything they had. That is all a coach can ever ask for.”
