Softball: Wildcats Close Out Season With Loss To Panthers

The Central Clarion Wildcats fell 18-2 in 3 innings to homestanding Keystone on Tuesday (May 12th) closing out the season for the young Wildcats team, which had just two seniors on their roster.

The Wildcats scored their runs in the top of the first inning.

Kaylee Mahle and Brooke Meals opened the game by drawing back-to-back walks. The next batter, Ashlyn Clark drove in Mahle and later Meals scored.

Kayla Carlson had a hit in the second and Clark had a single in the third.

This year’s seniors were Jesalyn Girt and Kaylee Smith. There were also only two juniors, Megan Powell and Kayla Carlson and three sophomores, Karlee Mahle, Ashlyn Clark and Elizabeth Estadt.

The team had five freshmen, Braelyn Defranco, Jocelyn Galan, Sydney Youngman, Lexi O’Brien and Brooke Meals.

So, the 2026 Wildcats were a very young team that worked hard and experienced a lot of growing pains, but gained valuable experience for the future. Fine Job, Wildcats Softball!
