Baseball: Bobcats Down Raiders
The Clarion Bobcats defeated The homestanding Brookville Raiders 6-4, on Tuesday (May 5th)
Neither team scored in the first inning. The Bobcats failed to score in the top of the fourth and the Raiders pushed one across in the bottom of the inning.
Clarion scored unanswered runs in both the third and fourth to take a 2-1 lead, and another two unanswered runs in the fifth to stretch their advantage to 4-2. The Bobcats scored two runs in the top of the sixth, while Brookville plated another three in their half of the inning, which set the final, with neither team scoring in the seventh.
Ethan Rex hit a two-run homer for the Bobcats. Hayden Weber had a pair of singles, scored a run and drove one in.
Dylan Smail singled, scored a run and had an RBI. Wyatt Watterson had a double and scored a run. Carter Hindman singled and scored a run.
Billy Kahle scored 2 runs and Evan Kriebel scored once.
Rex and Smail both saw time on the mound, with Rex registering 2 strikeouts and Smail recording 3 strikeouts.
