Bobcats, Lady Cats Do Well In Oil Country Track And Field Invitational (05/08/15)

The Clarion Area Track and Field Teams competed in the 28th Annual Oil Country Track and Field Invitational, on Saturday (May 7th), at Oil City High School, with many turning in fine performances.

GIRLS

Leading the way was Wendy Beveridge who took first in the Long jump, going 16-11.5. She finished third in the triple jump, with a distance of 33-4 and was eleventh in the 100 with a time of 13.68.  Gabby Weaver finished fifth in the 300 hurdles, with a time of 50.99 and took a seventh in the 100 hurdles with a 17.39.

Elsa Tovar took sixth in the discus, throwing 90-6 and Lexi Lauer finished eleventh in the high jump with a leap of 4-6.

The 4×100 relay, consisting of Beveridge, Weaver, Alexa Kriebel and Forest Mills took sixth with a time of 54.07.

Also competing for the Lady Cats was Hannah Phillips.

BOYS

The top place finisher for the Bobcats was Adam Bettwy, who finished second in the 1600 with a time of 4:45.77. Josh Kriebel took a third in the 110 hurdles, with a time of 15.33 and a fourth in the 300 hurdles with a 42.58.

Kyle Patterson took tenth in the 300 hurdles, finishing with a 45.21 and Marshall Powers was eleventh in the 400 with a 55.21 time.

The 4×800 relay consisting of Powers, Adam Bettwy, Kyle Bettwy and Austin Hummel finished sixth with a time of 9:13.88.

Also competing for the Bobcats were Jake Burns and Archer Mills.

Both Teams will host Union and DuBois Central Catholic, in a tri-meet, this Tuesday (May 10th) at Memorial Stadium.
