E-Z Dogs owners Tanya Brooks and her son Ezra have unveiled their Logo and are announcing their Grand Opening location, day, date and time, as well as several others.

E-Z Dogs is a food cart that will allow Ezra, who has Down Syndrome/Trisomy 21 to operate his own business, with the long term goal being to own a food truck, which will provide employment with a fair wage to other special needs citizens.

Ezra and Tanya joined forces in May, with funds left over from Ezra’s high school graduation and Tanya contributing, to purchase the food cart. The proceeds from the food cart will go toward helping other organizations in the US and elsewhere, who provide services to individuals with Down Syndrome. (See previous article for more information on the beginnings of this great venture.)

There are numerous individuals, organizations and businesses who have contributed to the venture via a special Venmo account etc.

One of the organizations who contributed: The Legion Riders from American Legion Post 066 in Clarion. Members in the picture from L-R are Deb Bowser, Jeff Courson(Legion Riders President) and Kurt Yeager (2nd Vice Commander of Legion Post 066) Tanya says, “Thank you to The American Legion Post 066 Riders for their support and generous donation to E-Z Dogs! We look forward to serving you up some delicious hotdogs soon! generous amount from both the Riders and the Legion as a whole.”

The Logo was designed by Olivia Keltz, who is Tanya’s other son Prince’s girlfriend.

Olivia, a 2020 Graduate of Clarion University, is a Marketing Specialist at Burns & Burns Associates in Clarion.

Tanya shared how the Logo came about, “Olivia is extremely talented and creative and I asked her a few months ago to create a logo for workout t-shirts for our Flowing_Down instagram page, with the phrase, “XpectMore”. The “X” is similar to the shape of a chromosome, so I wanted to emphasize the X, since Trisomy 21 is a triplication of the 21st chromosome. So, when it came time to create the logo, I again went directly to Olivia, and she was more than willing to help!

“I also wanted big brother Prince to be involved because I value his opinion and unique attention to detail. I knew I wanted the colors yellow and blue for Down Syndrome Awareness to be included and we all agreed that the logo needed a bit of nostalgia, but ultimately, it had to reflect Ezra’s fun and out-going personality.”

Olivia shared her inspiration for the Logo, “I wanted the logo, first and foremost, to be fun. That’s what Ezra is all about. From there it had to be simple and capture the essence of the business – elements of hot dogs and Down Syndrome Awareness. Eventually, I hope to see this logo all over town.”

Olivia and Prince

Prince was kind of humble in giving an assessment of his involvement with the design of the Logo. I was just along for the ride.”

Tanya said, “We asked Ezra if he approved and he said, ‘YEP!’ “

First United National Bank (the FUN Bank!) helped Ezra set up a business account for E-Z Dogs.

Tanya said, “Thank you to the First United National – The FUN Bank for helping us set up a business account for E-Z Dogs”

The permanency of the logo scared me, so Olivia and Prince made an ‘Executive Decision’ and it was final! I’m grateful for their willingness to step in and make that final decision, because it’s perfect! I typically hashtag “seetheability” and “XpectMore” when I post anything to social media about Ezra or what individuals with down syndrome are capable of doing when they are treated as actual individuals and not a diagnosis. People with down syndrome typically have delays in stages of development, but it’s different for everyone. Either way, it does not diminish the value of their lives, especially, for those that love them.
