Girls Basketball: Bobcats Fall To Berries
The homestanding Clarion Area Bobcats dropped a 52-33 decision to the Cranberry Berries, in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference basketball action, on Tuesday (February 4th).
The Berries led 19-11 after the first and 31-13 at the half. The Bobcats outscored Cranberry 13-9 in the third, sending the game to the fourth with the Berries up 40-26. A 12-7 Cranberry edge set the final.
Lacey Lauer led the Bobcats’ scoring with thirteen points, including three 3-point buckets. Marley Kline followed with 8 points, while Sophie Babington and Alivia Diehl had four points apiece.
Lilly Shirey and Natalie Durish each contributed two points.
Four Cranberry players scored in double figures: Avery Coe with 13, Jaydyn Shumaker with 12, Darien Wenner with 11 and Haylie Gregory with ten.
This was Senior Night for the Bobcats as they honored Sophie and Natalie.
The Bobcats are scheduled to travel to Redbank Valley on Thursday (February 6th).
